The film Silicon Cowboys is a biographical drama about a young group of lads who challenged the growing influence of IBM in the international computer market in the 80’s with their creative and genius tricks. The co-founders of Compaq Computer Corp Bill Murto, Rod Canien and Jim Harris started a revolution with their computer designs that transformed the IBM dominated era and shook the IT world. This was the time when computers were just getting started. The documentary takes a peek into the lives and works of all the co-founders of CCC and their rise to fame. The film features real characters Rod Canion, Jim Harris, Bill Murto, Bill Fargo, Hugh Barnes, David Cabello and Gary Stimac.
